Re: quick hatch question (hatch'd93)
EG is the chassis code.
Here's the official chassis code thread. Most people just refer to EF's 88-91, EG's at 92-95, EK's as 96-98 and 99/00 Si's at EM1's, but as you can see everything's specific of the year/engine/trim.
Like an EJ1 being a '95 EX and an EJ8 being a '96 EX, but everybody just refers to all 92-95's as "EG" and all 96-98's as "EK"
I"m sorry that link was for the prelude chassis codes.
Here's the one I use but I think there's another "offical" one floating arond H-T

Re: (hatch'd93)
Does your hatchback have a sunroof and rear disc brakes? If it does, then you probably have a Si hatch; which did (i believe) come with a ZC engine stock.
If you have three grand to spend on upgrades and that's it, upgrade your rims/tires and suspension first and foremost. Then I'd move on to the drivetrain or do an engine swap.

D15Z1 with vtec-e is the engine found in a VX if I am thinking right. Do you have side moldings on the car? The VX and CX hatches didn't.
The Si hatch came with a D16Z6, a sunroof, and side moldings.

I know pple with DX's..it does not have a VTEC engine :-\.
The VX engine has VTEC-E, that's the D15Z1 engine. If you have a D15Z1, then you have a VX hatch.

Ill be honest. You are going to put that intake and exhaust on there and probably not gain anything but sound. My friend struggled to get power out of his VX motor until he just did a swap.

best bang for the buck is boost and people will say " oh its unreliable " well not if u get it profesionally tuned and then have the guy teach u how to tune it and what to do. but ur car your decision
p.s. 93 si = d16z6 i dont car what anybody says thats a good motor. d15z1=economy trying to get the best mpg, not very good for speed.

Re: (JDMSedan)
If you look around you can find a swap for cheap. In total my LS swap cost me $800 with new axles and a clutch. You can usually pick up wrecked 94+ Integra's for cheap. You can use the drivetrain, suspension, interior, etc... from it. I owned a VX hatch and the 1st thing I did was put an EX tranny in it. It made a hell of a difference.
If you do decide to swap another motor into your car use the wiring harness off the motor that's being swapped in. Then you just have to repin 1 wire instead of a lot of wiring if you retain the VX harness. It is a headache if you retain the VX harness from what I've heard.
