Question for those that put a OBD2 SOHC engine into a EG civic?
What IACV did you use? All OBD2 SOCH engine uses a 3 wire IACV while the OBD1 uses a 2 wire IACV. How did you guys manage to get around this? What ECU are you guys running? Thanks.
EDIT: I will be running everything OBD1 (ECU, harness). Only thing that will be OBD2 is the engine itself.

Sorry.....my bad! Thanks for looking....pretty stumped about this one. Would like to solve this before taking the motor out.

Yes, OBD1 engine harness and ECU.

Still researching that. Going to look at my own ECU wiring during lunch.
Will be able to answer in about an hour/hour and a half.

Re: Question for those that put a OBD2 SOHC engine into a EG civic? (eg-six)
Okay. 3 wire IACVs have a Orange, Yellow/Black and Black/Blue.
2 wires have a Black/Blue and Yellow/Black.
On Manual OBDII ECU's the Black/Blue goes to A12 and the Yellow/Black goes to the main relay.
On Auto OBDII ECU's the Orange goes to A13, the Black/Blue goes to A14, and the Yellow/Black goes to the main relay.
The only difference is that Auto IACVs have a positive and a negative vaccum while Manuals only have positive.

Thanks for the info man. But the problem still exist.....i only have one pin out on the OBD1 ECU (A9, IACV) where as a OBD2b ECU has a (B23) IACV, and a (B6) IACV P. I don't think you can run a OBD2 IACV via a OBD1 ECU.

Thanks for the info....alot of research has all pointed that i will need a OBD1 intake manifold in order for this thing to work....i guess the hunt is on. Thanks guys for all the help! Cheers!

eg i was just wondering, is this a y8 obd2 engine you swapped in? Because if it is and its 3 wire, you have an engine from an auto as spade said. But all y7's have 3 wire also. So maybe a manual IM from a y8 would work for him?

Sorry....but i don't get what you are trying to say. But if you look at the ECU, there is actually a pin for IACV P which i don't have on the OBD1 ECU.

I am doing a manual Y7 into a EG chassis hence i have 3 wires for the IACV where as the EG only has 2.
