Default Question on sticker residue?????

I dunno if this is the correct place for this question, but my stock hood had a sticker on it, when I peeled it off it left some black sticky residue. What product can I use to take all that crap off without messing up my the paint.

Goo Gone, this stuff works like magic. I have been using it for years to remove all the sticky **** off my car. You can find it at Wal Mart.

Goo gone is a strong chemical, yes it works, but it also contains a lot of chemicals that are not good for paint....WD40 also is able to get rid of glue, and is not as harsh on your paint...but does not work as hard as goo gone, so you might need to apply it several times.

When I removed my pin strip, I just went with WD40.

Goo Gone is not even anywhere near harsh. I use it on my paint all the time. It's perfectly safe.

Well when I had my old black 95 civic, I took the lettering off with Goo gone, and after I did it...it left some streaks on the paint that never came out...I didn't even use that much...I was definitly not going to use it on my Si...just my experience with it, I am kinda **** when it comes to paint, don't want to hurt it.

if you can keep it in a cool dry place you can use cooking oil. let it sit there for awhile then just wipe off. i works and you dont have to worry about chemical stains.

goo gone, hair dryer, and ur fingernail....put on goo-gone where that black **** is..let is sit for 15 seconds...then heat it up if its solid...then scrape off with fingernail(u can use a flat screwdriver if you have a steady hand and do it correctly)

i had a sticker on my car and i used a flat screwdriver and it didnt scrape anything..as long as the screwdriver is perfectly flat on the surface and no edges

again u dont have to use a screwdriver a fingernail usually does the trick

goodluck and dont scratch your paint

This is going to sound funny, but you can use peanut butter.

I had some stickers on the sides of my car, and someone from the forum actually recommended using peanut butter and it works!!!

Just take a clean soft towel, get the peanut butter on the glued area and start polishing it, after a few seconds all the glue will start to get stick to the towel; but it does takes some extra work on your side, you have to polish it for a little while.
