Question on buying an EG coupe
My buddy that I'm deployed with right now is wanting to sell his coupe due to the fact he's buying an ITR once we get back. Here is the info on the car, all I need to know is how reliable the engine is going to be and if I need to get him to lower the price..as of now he wants 5000..
B16head
B20block
TypeRtranny
GREDDY exhaust
WW-RS lip kit all the way around
some Tenzos but I don't remember the model
AEM cold air
carbon altezzas
projector headlights
coilovers in the front and lowering springs in the back..the rear sits higher which looks good but not my style.
Anyway I need to know how reliable the engine is that way if I need to buy a D16 block I can, I plan on throwing on some exterior jdm pieces, a turbo, a new paint job, and some misc. interior pieces..all the feedback I can get would be nice..if I wasn't deployed I would send pics but it's in climate controlled storage, another wonderful thing about Hawaii.

and just springs in the back? on stock shocks?
5grand is alot for an eg, get him lower, 2500-3500 depending what you get on miltary pay

Meaning he has springs and shocks in the front and stock shocks in the back. I thought that 5000 looked a little steep for an EG, I did pay 3200 for my 95 dx hatch back in 2001 but that was a purely mint completely bone stock EG..anyone else???

Damn, I really do need to lower this guy down a bit, the car has great paint and the interior is pretty much flawless so the most I'll give him is 4..and that's because he's a friend of mine..thanks guys..I'll see if he has any pics and I'll post them if he does.
Feels good to know I'll be back in the game from a almost year long break...

Re: (JDMLove07)
Yah, those are all good upgrades but how often did he maintain that engine? Who maintained that engine? and I would suggest taking it to a Honda Cert mechanic or an Import tuner shop....
Good luck and have him bring it down a few G's.

You're right, I don't want to pay 3500 for a car and have the engine blow up on me 2 months later, either way if the engine goesthen I'm just going to put a b18c5 in it and be happy. any other comments?
