Default Question about Tranny to Motor braces/brackets

Guys,

We recently took my d16z6 out of my car and retorqued it and did alot of maintenece to it. My question is that now when I drive the car it feels like the linkage is either lose cause when I give it gas alittle the shifter shakes front to back. I was told that these braces that are on the bottom of the motor that bolt into the trans case are really not needed and I dont have them on there. Is this the cause or is it something else. Also when at low speeds its like the car is kinda jumping or something.

Honda put them there for a reason...put them back.

Have you replaced the shifter bushings ?

Do you have any of the original OEM mounts still in the car? They are how old???

ya i got the orignal oem mounts in there. They replaced the trans so I think it may be that the shifter stabalizer bar is lose or the pin that is to the trans is lose. The car didnt use to be like this so I dont know what the problem is.

Order yourself some shifter bushings from Tony1, and may be the tranny mount inserts.

Becareful with going overboard on the inserts. If you install all of them the vibration is pretty harsh.

I have used only half the kits sometimes (engine mounts). Seems to be a nice trade off.

Tell Tony rota92 & I sent you.

i think it may have to do with the bitch pin where the linkage goes to the tranny

yea the bushing will only firm up the shifter, but if it is really sloppy its the pin that needs replacing.

The sloppy shifter can be caused by the shifter metal bushing. Pick a short throw shifter, I like the Skunk2 it's expensive but you get what you pay for.

there is this stupid little plate that holds the shifter and bushing into position on the stabilizer bar. make sure this plate is not on upside down. it has a lip on it and the lip should be facing down. thats all i can think of at the moment. those little mounts from the motor to tranny should not be the cause i just did a tranny swap and didnt replace them and had no problems.

yes my shifter does this moving as well. i can have it in gear and it has lots of side to side play. and when im driving if it push on the throttle. the shifter will move back due to the motor movement. I have the es bushing and it is the bitch pin that needs replacing.
