question about how to remove wheel hub
I'm doing a tranny swap today. Need to get the axles out so i need to get the hub off. I see that there is a bolt right in the center, i'm assuming that has to come off. But does the brake rotor need to be taken off as well. BTW, what size is that hub in the center. i found a 1 1/4" 12 point socket that seems to working alright. but problem is someone instead of putting in a key, just pounded the steel from the but into the groove so now the nut doesn't want to come off!!! Any and all help is welcome.

Its pounded into the grove for that exact reason, so it doesnt back off, its supposed to be like that.. Just use something to unbend it, its not too difficult to do, then remove the nut. Then remove the nut on the lower ball joint and pop it loose. Then you should be able to move the whole rotor and brake assembly out of the way and pull the axle out. You will also want to take the bolt out of the fork on the botttomn of the strut too I believe to get the axle out.
Oh and make sure that you bend the edge of that nut back into the grove so it doesnt back off.
