Default Question about fuel pressure???

Hey all, I'm new here so not really sure how this works. Been workin on my car for awhile and have most of the basic bolt ons and my g/f decided to get me the AEM Adj. fuel pressure regulator and AEM Rail and i was jsut curious as to what most you all think would be the best pressure to run with the basic bolt-ons with plans of doing valve-train in the summer. I've heard 48psi is a good pressure but wasn't sure. Feedback would be GREAT!!!

the stock setting... unless your definition of a bolt-on is different than mine.

Thanx for the reply. What is your definition of a bolt-on? and why do you say stock setting is best? On top of that, what is the stock setting, cant find out what that is anywhere? Anyone else wanna let me know what theyre runnin on theirs?

Haynes repair manual is a good start to find out a lot of basics...ie.. torque specs, pressures, and other info that mite be of interest
Hose on 31-38psi
Hose off 40-47psi

Bolt-ons I guess would be anything that you are trying to upgrade to improve performance over an above factory specs.

Yes with the vac hose off/on the top of the fuel pressure regulator.

There is really no need to run more than stock pressure with basic bolt-ons, the numbers I gave you are just general specs. There is a chance you could over work your stock fuel pump if you try and add too much fuel as well as a full list of other problems, in other words just leave it stock.

Thanks again for the help. Another quick question, i plan on beefing up the valvetrain this summer, would that require more fuel to go with a bigger cam and better springs, valves, retainers?

I'd like to say yes, but I think I'd leave it up to who ever helps you tune it once that's done. I would recommend HON-DATA to get the full potential after the work is done. Do a search and you'll be able to find out a lot about tuning after head work or any internal upgrades for that matter.
