First off you got your engines mixed up. The 99-00 Si came with the B16a2, not B16b.

Second, no you can not use the harness (connectors) from your car. You will need to get the ECU, harness, tranny, and engine to do this swap. (those are just the major componets)

Next, if you want to lighten your car, loose some weight in the car, that is a good start but the amount of noise that will be added isn't really worth it. But that is just me.

If your ex is an auto you will have a little more work to do for that swap as well.

And finally, DON'T ******* STREET RACE!

And now, go do a search and read Ricey McRicerton's FAQ about swaps on the top of the page. Thank you, have a nice day.

I didn't get on your case as bad as someone can about that mistake. Everyone makes them no worries. Do worry about searching and reading post titles though. Remember what I said about Ricey? Here I'll help you out.

And remember, don't street race. Take it to a track man... I don't want to hear about your car getting destroyed, you going to jail because you killed someone, or you dying. It's not worth it.

Also a good suggestion, I plan on doing that to my d16 in the future. That does take a lot of work to maintain and build right though.

The k20, h22, and b18c5 are all extremely expensive swaps. A b16 is good, but they lack torque. That can however be fixed with a nice turbo. A b18 is a good choice because they are cheap and not hard to find.

Every engine can be modded, it depends on what you want out of the engine. Do you want to go N/A or FI? Do you want something that will last a long time? Do you want major power?

You need to tell us what your budget is. Like I said, you need to search. It will answer many of your questions.

Not much anymore.

Quote, originally posted by TechDan »

im new to the honda so i dont really know wat n/a and fi mean but yea i want something that last long and i want an engine wit some good power so either the b16 or b18.and if the b16 or b18 is better witch type.and im looking for one with good milage and witch year motor would be best

Okay, I've been very patient with you so far, and I'm starting to loose it. SEARCH! Sorry, I can't tell you anymore. Searching will answer A LOT if not ALL of your questions.

A b18 has more power than a b16. If you want lots of power and reliability, you got a problem.

BTW: FI = Forced induction (turbo) N/A = naturally aspirated (all motor)
