Re: Quaife who has one on there D series (JDMCRX)
Here is a sponsor selling Quaife's, and he has them for SOHCs, so they must have them.

i've got one sitting on my desk right now . it's looking for a newer y8 tranny for a home.
there's 2 applications for d series: 1 for 35mm bearings, 1 for 40mm bearings. you need the one for 40mm: the last three digits in the part number are 155.

Hey there old buddy ol pal...you know you want to send me the other one right?? Seriously though, will these go in a y7 tranny?? I know the 5th gen EX has different guts than the DX.

yes, as long as the tranny has 40mm bearings it will fit. selling the other one to a local guy. if he backs out (doubt it) it's going up for sale on here.

how would this compare to the lsd d15b tranny? I'm thinking about just picking up one of those for $500

i was thinking the same exact thing: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=705537
i ultimately decided the quaife is worth it. what good is a powerful engine when you have a weak and / or ineffective driveline???

if i wouldn't have found this incredible deal, i might have a jdm d15b tranny sitting here. but, i'm really glad i got this spaceship lookin thing here instead. i can't wait to get this in; this is another one of those mods you notice every second you're in the driver's seat. i say save and get the quaife.
now i know someone has a y8 tranny with low mileage they want to sell me

the only place i could find a d15b was through adrian at http://www.hyperducktuning.com, he sells them for $500 picked up. he does not ship and is in toronto. apparently http://www.hmotorsonline.com has them for $350 but i don't think they were on the website when i last checked .
so, you'll be paying $500 for an older tranny, that may already be beat to ****, with a weaker and less effective lsd - not to mention you'll have to take a trip to toronto to get it. also what happens if you would have to rebuild it? there never was an oe D series lsd transmission in the usdm, so unless you could get the parts from a jdm honda dealer, if you would happen to break it, it's a useless piece of ****.
i thought about this long and hard, and decided the extra $300 for the quaife was very justified. but then i found such an amazing deal on one, i had no second thoughts about getting it whatsoever. i'm not sure if this guy can get anymore at that price, i'll ask him; he wanted to do a group buy, but everyone on that site was broke at the time.
