putting an F20B in to a 93 civic and have some questions
i have a '97 F20B and just got a 93 civic hatch. i have the motor, tranny, ecu, and shift linkage. i'm about to buy motor mounts, axles, and have a custom wiring harness made by HAsport. me and one other person are going to put it in ourselves. I was wondering if anyone had any info on this type of swap. anything would help. i would like to know what problems to look out for and things that would make the swap run as smoothly as possible. thanks.

this is rare swap, nearly unheard of. The only car that I seen with a f20b was a accord and it was faster with the old engine in there. Good luck finding somebody. Should of researched.
Edit: I searched, and it says it's a destroked h22 with a different head. The install should be some what close to h22 swap but the really is no info on this swap anywhere, good luck looks like you are going to be pioneer.

yeah its going to be hard to wire up the distributor. me and a couple of my buddies just put one in my boy's 2000 accord coupe. thats pretty much what slowed us down. oh man was a it a nightmare. but good luck to you and your boy on the swap.

i appreciate all of your guys' help. i know it's going to be a project but i've doing a lot of reading on previous postings. i'll be using it as a daily driver with speed and won't be at the tracks. i know how it compares to the H22A now and am pretty content with it. i'm just glad i got a hatch and not a lude or accord.

just go to the thread about putting h22s into EG's since an f20b is basically and h22 (less stroke so it rev's higher, bah same ****, f/h **** are pretty much interchangeable)

yep and if you can get your hand on a obd1 h22 distributor, do that. Other than that just read https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=650329. So you can familiarize yourself with what your gonna be doing once you start on the swap

i read somewhere that changing to obd1 would be a good idea only if i planned on doing forced induction. is this true?

Re: putting an F20B in to a 93 civic and have some questions (smokerjoe)
no because your your f20b motor is obd2. But your car is obd1. Since obd1 car is from 92-95 civics then your qualifies for obd1. When you put the motor in you use your civic obd1 wiring harness on your f20b motor. Its the simpliest way to do the swap.
I think what your getting at is when the car is obd2 a or b then you would convert to obd1 for ecu tuning so you can run a standealone system. Since most of the standealone can be run on obd1 ecu's only. I hope that helps
