Default Putting Door panel back on....is it just me or is this a b**ch?

this is for a 3dr civic hatchback dx....and my god is it easy to take off....but man is it just me or is it a bitch to put back on? i only do this to realign my window when it comes off track....every once in awhile...

is there a trick to this? i mean when i almost get it on....its never aligned properly near the mirror up at the top.....but some how i eventually get it to fit in properly.....i just dont get it. Whats the proper way to get this thing back on smoothly with out wrestling the damn thing?

you have to kinda set it on top of the lower window line it slides down in there when you took it of you can't just pull it towards you you had to lift it up first ..from there it should be cake

You put the top part on first by sliding the door molding on the panel onto the door. Then hit in all the clips.

u just have to play with it. but i think you need a new regulator to fix the window from coming off the rail. or a new bushing. i just changed out regulator on my 97 ex. it wasn't too bad. just play with it. put the mirror cover on then hook the top in place, and then just tap it in, just tap it in.

i have noticed that the left part of the window track the rubber has like a slice in it....probably from it being dry and not lubed up i guess its just bad...but i dont think thats quite why it kept coming off, regardless ill check tomorrow morning even in more detail....i just wish there was an easier way to get to the whole window thing.....its like its bad enough i barely have any vision to see what the problem is.....

I have a CX hatch and have never had a problem removing or installing my door panels. top slides down, bottom snaps in.

somewhat related threadjack (sorry OP): anyone know of a way to take off the door panel without scratching up the mirror molding. the plastic piece opposite to the mirrors...everytime I put the door panel back on, I scratch the **** out of the corner of it.

Put a cloth over it or something, the easiest way to get the door panel off is to have the right tools. I work in autobody so you need your phillips head, a special door clip tool to get out that nasty u shaped spring that holds in the window handle, and your basic clip tool. Without those its gonna be a ******* pain in the *** and you are more likely to break something.

Just take out the screw that holds in the little handle pocket looking thing, then the screw in the plastic surround for the release handle, and then that little plastic screw in the corner near the hinge. Then take your door clip tool and pop out that u shaped spring, the opening usually faces away from the direction the handle extends, so use that as you will unless someone else has worked on the car and reinstalled it incorrectly. Then take your clip tool and pop out the other clips holding in the door panel, pull the bottom away from the door once all the clips are removed, and give it a nice upward slap with your hand and it should come right out, simple right?
