my passenger door lock gives me a little trouble when trying to lock it from the outside with the key, and my drivers side does also just not as bad
so i wanted to take off the door card to check out whats up, looks like it has clips holding it on i pressume?

There are clips holding it, plus a screw in the inner door handle and in the armrest. If you have manual windows there is the window crank too.
Have you tried some dry graphite first though?

I didn't realize how big of a difference it could make. My friend's lock suddenly froze up and was really stiff to turn. She picked some up and I pushed the key in halfway to open the lock so I could "spray" the graphite into the lock cylinder and then turned the key, inserted it, pulled it out and just messed with it for a minute and after that it was so smooth.
