Pump my fuel injected motor inorder to start?
I have a 91 H22 swapped honda crx HF, ran on a 92-95 eg interior and engine harness (i bought it like that, apparently he swapped the car harness to make it easier to tune), but my problem is that I have to pump the gas continually while cranking it over continually (for a good amount of time) to get it to start. Anyone have any ideas on why I would have to pump a fuel injected motor to get it to start???

Re: Pump my fuel injected motor inorder to start?
you have an underlying issue.
the gas pedal only controls the throttle body, the injectors are controlled by the ecu.
are you getting any check engine lights?

So my car should start the exact same without me pumping the gas pedal? Could my ecu be toasted then, or could a sensor on my tb need replace? I do have check engine codes but I am currently swapping my hacked up engine harness with a rywire mil spec harness, but i'm not sure that this will cure the pre-existing problem. Even after it does finally start up, I can't rev past 1700 rpms without it running spastically on me. It's jerks if i try to keep the throttle constant, but I can accelerate smoothly and then let off the gas pedal and it revs down smooth. There is no constant cruising for me past 1700rpms, it's sucks cruisin around at 30 sum miles an hour in 5th gear to stay under the rpms, or accelerating flyin past someone, then decelerating, gettin passed, and doin it all over again with people thinkin what is this jacka$$ doin?
