i think honda calls for like 4.2qts or something. me im lazy i just put in 5 and call it a day. hasnt harmed anything with two different cars and 2 different motors.

nope when i use 5 in either my b16 or b18b it always sits maybe a mm above the full line. no ill effects and ive been doing it for at least 6-7yrs. you dont have to but i buy my oil in the 5qt bottle so i just use it all. you run into problems when you go more then a qt over.

Honda spec for an oil change is 3.6quarts I thought (d16y8). Engine rebuild is 4.5quarts. I usually do about 3.5, drive the car and then adjust to get to max on the dip stick.
