problems with motor swap
Hello all,
You guys always come through when i need help so here i am once again.
I recently put a motor in my 97 honda civic hatch. I used a obd1 d15b vtec motor, with the obd2a engine harness. The distributor and alternator were re-wired to match the harness but obd2a ecu and injectors were used.
The car turns over just fine but once i give it gas, it wants to choke. It never does, but it really sounds like it wants to. I think this is eather the map sensor or dizzy (i was also told that i should use an obd1 ecu with a jumper harness)
Its possible that the dizzy was wired wrong but i dont think the car would even turn over if this was the case.
The check engine light also blinks constantly. Tommorow i will try to get a code from the CEL.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Re: problems with motor swap (ken-e)
I believe that motor (d15b) uses a crank angle sensor thats internally located in the distributor, but, the obd2a engine harness and ecu are looking for it down by the oil pump, and without the sensor functioning correctly, the car will run as stated in your post. Go jumper harness+OBD1 P28
I think his might be the case...anyone confirm???
