Problems with belt. need help
ok first of all i have a 92 civic si hatch..
previously had a complete jdm zc vtec engine.
the block blew so i got a rebuilt d16a6 block.
my mechanic claims that neither timing belt fits..
the one on the new block and old seem to be to
big.. Whats the deal? shouldnt it be a direct fit?
or is there smaller ones?
thanks in advanced

Re: Problems with belt. need help
normally you use the timing belt for the cam gear. i believe the deck height for the 1.5L is shorter than the a6. both motors have the same bore, and rod length, but the stroke is .5mm less on the d15.
normally you go with the timing belt that matches the cam gear when you do a frankenstein setup. i did a mini-me and a z6 timing belt fit my setup perfectly. im not sure what to tell you if your mechanic says both belts are too loose.
