Default Mini-Me timing issue

I tried to put the engine in time last night and when I lined up the timing marks the belt seemed to have too much tension on one side and not enough on the other. Has anyone else ever experienced this issue?

It would help if you specified your franken motor. Which head, and which block and which timing belt did you use.

Did you spin the cam gear slightly to tension the belt while you torqued the tensioner?
