problem with shift lock
ok i recently did a swap. i have a 92 honda civic lx swapped with a 1.6 vtec sohc. i have a automatic transmission and i was told that i need to find the switch that goes from the cylinoid of the shift lock to the compter. now i cant figure out which one because there is two clips beside eachother underneath the console of the transmission shifter. i cut the first one (driver side) and that cut off my dash lights when i turn my lights on. so then i tried the one connected to the cylinoid and tried grounding the two wires but that didnt change anything. and even tried connecting them together all that did was shut off my speedomter and tachmeter and check engine light. nothing is working. this problem is preventing me having VTEC and has the check engine light on. number 21. vtec spool syniliod or something. i need help im very aggrevated. please someon! desperate!!!!!!!!!!!
