I wish I could help you there but you shouldn't always run your car THAT low on gas all the time. You'll kill the fuel pump. Also, that's why the fuel guage was invented. If you're low, you know when to fill up. My car doesn't gas light and haven't had a problem.

??? use your fuel gauge.
My light didnt work either. I mean i wanted it to work just because..i wanted it to freaking work. But i never feared that i would run out of gas. You look at the needle. If the needle is near empty....you fill it up. Unless you're female

Yea some do.
Next technology we get will be a soothing calming voice letting us physically know through our speakers that our car is low on gas, because we've become too lazy to look at our gas guages. Can it be done? of course.. very easy.. Why would we need it? Who knows.

Jeez, we need a sticky on basic troubleshooting.
to the OP: Start with the easy stuff. Check to see that the light bulb isn't burned out. Check for continuity between the sending unit and the cluster. Check to see if the sending unit works properly (might be hard without running out of gas). Narrow down the problem to one component, and it should be pretty easy to figure out what's wrong.

All this for a little light lol. I'd hate to have tear apart everything just to find out what the problem is. Good luck though!

you dont need an idiot light to tell you that you need gas...that is why there's a gauge...</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's assuming your gauge works. I used to drive an accord without a working gas gauge, and I'd try to guess by mileage when I needed to fill up. It had a low gas light, and it saved my *** a few times where I would have otherwise run out of gas.
Plus, if I'm in a hurry I'll forget to check the gauge.

A new gauge section is under $30 IF the gauge is broken.
Personally I think the whole concept is stupid though. Gauges are better, even the inaccurate Honda ones

That's where I was getting at. I just keep asking myself "Do we REALLY need a light to tell us when we're low on fuel?" But hey, it's a luxury and I guess cool to have, but I'd have no use for it.
