Default Problem with engine bogging down

d16z6

all stock in an ex.
NO CODES
problem is that when under power (wot or high load) operations the car just falls flat on its face and boggs down. idles fine and runs, but this happens normall 2-3k rpm. after a few seconds of that it is normal again. but acceleration under this condition is impossible.

this is my buddy's car and I cant figure it out.

he just changed the oil, got a new air filter, O2 sensor, but it started before he did the O2.

thanks

Timing? Maybe. People usually state the all d series lack torque between those rpm's. Maybe its normal.

no it actually wont accelerate at all. not just a lack of torque.

Well like I said have you checked your ignition timing? Cap,rotor, bad coil? Tps out of spec? Could be many things. Try testing the Tps with a multimeter and see if its within spec.

Like what mortificationrock said,it could be the timing and all that is involved with that or check the dizzy.

Have you ever did a tune up? Check the spark plugs to see if one bad or something

i have d15b7 with a z6 head in a 92 civic i had the same problem i changed the idle air control on the back on the back of the intake and i worked like a charm also check fuel pressure not enough will cause gas in the cylinder to detonate and backfire throgh the intake.
