Default Problem with B16a Civic Suggestions Welcome!

Hello am new to the site,

Recently purchased a Civic SIR and for some reason when the V-Tec engages it loses power like lack of spark or fuel?

Replaced the Leads (Which were nackered) and the plugs but now the problem starts right from 2,000 rpm!!

Am i right thinking the distributor has had it or could it be fuel pump?

A friend mentioned V-Tec solonoid to start with but as it's happening before the V-Tec kicks in i don't see how it could be?

Any help or suggestions welcome

Thanks very much

Powelly

Thanks for the reply,

No code getting thrown, no engine management light either.

This is what is making me think is a fuel related problem?

Thanks again

if you feel a lack of power then i would check the ignitor in the dizzy. if the fuel pump isnt working , then the motor wouldnt run. it could be a clogged fuel filter. but put another ignitor or distributor on and see what happens

Thanks,

Would it be possible to buy just a ignitor or do i have to buy the whole unit?

Will change the fuel filter also to eliminate that anyways.

Do you think it will be picked up on the computers at Honda? Got it booked it on Weds

Again thanks for the comments guys
