price for a rebuild
i posted this in tech and didnt really get any feedback.
im getting a 94 b18b with tranny for free. they have 220K on them. but i went into a local shop in boise and a guy that worked there quoted me "Right around 2 grand for parts, that includes forged pistons, rods, rings and bearings." that seems a little steep to me. and another grand to put it all together. and still another 5-6hundred in machine work. thats what they quoted me, does this seem right at all, this is the only shop around here. and if you go to a v-8 shop, they hate on imports and charge about the same. so am i getting jerked around?

Re: price for a rebuild (a1320honda)
if your going to ISC expect to get ripped, they over charge for everything...
Check out Victory road....off I-84...they have some shops out by the auto tech center that might be able to do it for cheaper...
But yah for the parts and what not that seems pretty steep. Do you know what pistons/rods etc that they will be using?

Re: price for a rebuild (Rev-Olution)
that price was for srp pistons, eagle rods, total seal rings, and eagle bearings. ive found that whole setup in a magazine for 800.

i suggest finding the parts yourself once u find a good shop. usually they only deal w/ a few manufacturers and u end up payin a lot more.

Don't know bout B series builds, but my quote for a D16Z6 to go under boost was...
$3200 for up to 12 psi
$4200 for up to 22 psi
Prices included all parts and labor (no install of the motor in the car though). They refuse to have a Honda sit in their garage.
I got quoted from Maxx Auto Works in Federal Way, WA. Look'em up if you wanna drive over a state line.
