Power windows problems.
Ok i just bought a 4 dr yesterday and iv spent the last day or so gutting it to redo the interior cause the previous owner owned the **** out of it with his disgusting ways. I just pulled the dash out a few minutes ago cause it was spray painted :-/ . So now my problem is with the windows. They the driver front and the passenger rear dont work. And the windows that do work are slow as hell. So is this a common problem or is it more neglect on the previous owner? Any ideas why they might not work? Otherwise i was gonna replace the internals with one from a junk yard. So if i do that, how much of a pain in the *** is that?
Its a 92 Lx btw

Ok well i tore appart the whole driver side door. I pulled out the motor, took a look at that. And hooked it up and tried that The motor didnt budge, i tore apart the motor, and made sure it wasnt seized or anything. Nope freely spins. So it could be 1 of 3 things.
1) wiring (power, ground, etc..)
2) motor (just bad coil er sumthin)
3) switch (bad switch, not working properly.)
What do you all think givin the information i gave u? Also is there a commen denominator in those three? AKA does one of those happen more commenly then the others?

I am honestly not sure, but I do know an ebay seller who sells an alarm system with the motors for the doors for about 60 after shipping. I read the auction , and he sends a wiring diagram for the particular car you would use.
Check his auctions out at http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eB...s_com
Here is the specific auction I am thinking about.

Good luck

Re: Power windows problems. (PlayDepot)
Ok well did a bit more testing. remember only the driver side front and passenger side rear dont work. Well i just pulled the motor out of the non-working rear door and hooked it up to the other side and the motor worked fine. Did the same with the switches. So all the motors and switches are working fine. So all i can think is wiring? Or my friend told me with civic they have a tendency to get bad relays? Anyone know about this?
Also my power locks dont work. Thats the switch on the door handle itself right? Yea that doesnt do anything at all.

Ok well i took a better look at the fuse box and wow, i hate the previous owner. I also looked at a fuse diagram and found where the relay is. So i pulled that out, and i see the bittest trace of rust on the inside. Now i took it off and it feels pretty warm. Does this mean its prolly shorted out?

Yeah hopefully I never have to do that again. It wasn't the hardest thing to do but it was still a pain in the a$$!!
