power antenna on eg civic??
i posted this in the audio/security/video forum as well...any help is appreciated
i searched but either there is nothing posted about this or i just didnt know what to search for....but here is my question. I have a 92 civic 4dr and of course the antenna is not power. I want to convert to a power antenna...is this possible and what do i need to do it? Ive seen a bunch of universal power antennas on ebay and other places online, but im not sure if whats included is all i need. could someone please help me out and let me know what i need to do this. Also, to make use of the JDM half antenna switch, what relay do i need and where can i get it? thanks!!

Re: power antenna on eg civic?? (john666)
so do i just shave the stock antenna and buyt something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
and install it on the rear quarter panel where the integras have it (or more specifically where the jdm ferios have it).....my main questions is, is that kit all i need? or are there other parts im going to need to do this. and where can i find the relay i need in order for the half antenne switch to work? thanks

something like that should work... u just need to wire it up.. 1 wire to your radio. and all will be good... i would try to get something that is as flush with the car as possible. o yea.. i dont think u need a relay. just to wire it to radio and to ground the unit.

thanks for your reply, the relay is for the use of the JDM half antenna switch...i know it needs a relay to work, i am just trying to figure out if any sort of relay will work or if there is a specific one i need and where i can get it.

Re: power antenna on eg civic?? (egcivic611)
okay well apparently any universal antenna wont work with the jdm half antenna switch, i guess u need the antenna that is made to be able to stop half way or something. so...do anyone have this antenna or know where i could get one? I have already checked ebay, jdmland, jdmshit, passwordjdm, etc...none of them have it...jdmland has the swithc but not the antenna. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
