i had the vave cover off the head for about 3 weeks. now all the oil that was there around the rockers, cams, and rest of the valvetrain is gone. it looks really dry. is it ok if i poured motor oil all over the valvetrain before putting the valvecover back on?

yes, thats what you're doing anyways when you're pouring oil into the valve cover
