my brother said he heard a knocking noise that may be a rod bearing going bad, and although he knows alot more about cars than I do, neither of us are experts.

Can anyone tell me if my engine sounds normal or if something is wrong?

P.S. I rev'd it to about 2500-3000 rpm.

My car has around 101,500 miles on it.

rod knock is WAYYYY louder and is more uniform with engine rpm

Yea, your fine. What your hearing is your injectors firing and the good `ol Honda engine tick, which is normal.

sounds pretty normal but when rod knocks start they are very faint when caught early. u will start to hear them at idle. do a valve adjustment and see if u can get that valve chatter a little quieter. intake .007- exhaust .009

Sounds like mine, just get your valves adjusted, you will get another 150k miles at least.

Adjust the valves. Remember, these guys are pretty loud to begin with. Noisy heads, along with the injectors clicking.


Rod knock is quite loud, you would know something is wrong quick.

could be knock. my lude would be very faint and id beileve it was just valve noise but a month later it got so bad i could not drive it
