Default Please help!!! (crank-bolt)

I need to take off my crank bolt so that I can change my timing belt and cam gears. There are no pins or anything of that nature. I don't think it is reverse thread but I may be wrong.
how do I get it to come off?

it took me a breaker bar and a lead pipe! You will need either an impact wrench, or a tool they make specifically for that. It usually goes for about 20-30 bux

if u dont have an impact wrench (which i personally think is the easiest way to go) then find a garage nearby to pop off the bolt for u. if the shop is close enough to your house (like mine is) then just tell them to take off the bolt, then put it on finger tight and push the car home. if u live further u may want to tighten it a lil more and drive home slowly.

Jack it up...get one friend to put it in gear then stand on the brakes...put a socket on the bolt, a braker bar and then a pipe on the end of that. Hace the guy pushing on the braker bar and pipe push with his legs...if he cant get it off like that, have a third guy tap the pipe with a hammer while hes pushing!

The infamous Crank Bolt. Moroso makes a wrench that fits on the inside of the crank pulley and then your rachet goes through it. If you can't wait on the tool you can drop the flywheel cover and lock the flywheel with a screwdriver or crowbar. Use at least 1/2 drive Rachet or Breaker Bar with a deep well 19mm the bolt turns couterclock wise if you look at it from the drivers side through the wheel well.

It's not easy, when I was taking crank of my car, buddy and I made a tool just for that. We took a big *** nut and welded a bar to it. Make sure there is hold big enough for your crank socket. Or like other have mentioned, go to a garage and see if they can loosen it for ya.
Good luck

highly reccomend the moroso crank pulley tool. but if all else fails, anoterh good thing i do is remove the flywheel inspection plate underneath the engine, or pull the starter out. find the biggest beefiest screwdriver you can find and shove that sucker in there. it will hold against the teeth on the flywheel and allow you to put some real torque down on the crank bolt. good luck!
