Default Please help, code 21,41, jdm gsr into EG, very first swap

Sup guys, well i wrote couple of post in regards to my very first swap that i'm doing for a friend, actually my brother and myself doing the install, something we had never done before the highlight prior to this was changing brakes.

Car : 95 Honda Civic CX
Motor : 94 JDM GSR

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=889479

At this point we are finally done and its day 6 finally down to two codes, 21 (Vtec solenoid spool valve?) and 41 (something 02 heater?), ecu is P72 then it has ECU serial number and big bold capital letters "AT" would this be from automatic?

The motor was automatic for sure and i've research a bit supposedly they did have auto gsr in japan but not very common.

My main concern at this point is to get vtec to work we had checked the wiring going into the pressure switch and solenoid and it seems to be fine, then we used the bellow diagram to wire it up from the plug but its still not working. We inserted the wire into the plug then looped it, after that we attached a little connector with a pin and inserted that into the plug for hopefully a better connection but still throws a code. Any ideas on what we are doing wrong? So far i can think of two things, either we are plugging the wire into the wrong pin on the plug (does it matter from what direction you are looking at the plug?) or there is a loose wire someplace in the harness? And also, anyone know what is the 41 code for exactly and how can i get rid of that? Pics soon to follow!

(Diagram Used)

Thanks for all the help in advance! Hope that with you advice we'll have her running by today

whats the code on the ecu? 37820-P72-XXX (last 3 digits) if 900/901/902 then its an auto ecu, most likely has 4plugs as well on the ecu side and a large casing type right?

yes its an auto ECU.. i believe it has 9XX number after but i'll go home at lunch and find the correct number to confirm.. Should this matter at all? the AT plug is just blank of course as there is no plug to go into it. But now what i dont know is if the above diagram from Katman would apply to auto ECU? Would the pinouts be different so thats why its not working? btw, car idles excellent, (at cold 2K, when warm 900rpm) fires up great, revs out without boggin.. but then all day yesterday i heard from people that auto ecu will not work at all?

yeaup..thats my diagram and it looks like someone photoshopped-out my name too..how nice

it DOES matter how you're looking at the ecu plugs & pinouts. You have to look at the ecu pinouts from the backside of the plug, as if it were plugged into the ecu to locate the pinouts listed above. Not from the unplugged, front side view.

code 21 = vtec solenoid, should be 1 wire going to A4.
code 41 = Heated 02 sensor

Are you reusing the CX engine harness on the GSR engine? if so, code 41 is due to this because all EG CX's uses a single-wire 02 sensor. You'll need to add 3 more wires to convert th CX to using a 4-wire 02 sensor, Ish. Or find yourself a DX (add vtec), Si, or EX engine harness if you don't want to deal with wiring in the 3 02wires.

How come yer not getting a code 19 (lock solenoid - auto tranny related) ?

btw, here's an updated OBD1 ecu pinout diagram:
