Piston Rings Aliment MARK ?
I just got new Piston Rings and installed them , Then I look at the manual I did every thing correct by spacing them in correct angles, but then I realized that there are marks on the Rings look at attachment , Not sure it I put them correct, The rings had color Green and Red tab on each end of the rings, (TOP RING), the other had BLACK and White (second ring ) The parts are from MAHLE part number 41618 the manual SUCKS , DO I HAVE TO TAKE THEM OUT, WHIHC WAY DO THEY GO. Does it Matter, ?

If you put them in wrong they won't seat and your compression will be shitty, and they could break. Take a couple of hours to pull them and check, beats having to redo your work in the future with possible additional damage present...

Why don't you look at your rings and see if they look the the ones in the manual. The top ring doesnt matter if it has a bevel or not if it does install it the way its shown but the bottom ring needs to have the ridge on the bottom.

There should be marks with a dot or in your case color. That should be the top. The bottom ring is a scraper ring and NEEDS to be installed in the proper orientation. Makes me think this motor isn't going to last very long.

If you have ADD I would ABSOLUTELY keep a list with you and write down piston number one, two, three, etc. and check off what you did for each piston - ease of mind.

Dude, I hope for the love of Christ you have been wearing latex gloves and using engine lube on the bearing components. Fingerprints on bearing babbitt can cause etching (from acids in sweat). Engine assembly lube should go on all bearings. After you assembe the engine, install and fill, turn over without the plugs in the cylinders to make sure that the oil is picked up and moving around the block into the vital passages. After that you can start up and break cam in if required on the Honda, or whatever procedures the manual calls for.

OP, have you built an engine before? How about this: write up what you have done so far, and post pics as you move through the steps and someone can chime in to see if you are doing it correctly. Or... you might ask someone who has done it before to assist you. Nothing wrong with learning. Just do it right or it becomes a big waste of time, energy and money. I'm sure everyone will help... if you ask for it or show your progression...

Re: Piston Rings Aliment MARK ?
NO, NO, NO - oil will not cut it, nor will vasoline (when it cools it will clog up filters, etc). You need assembly lube - designed for initial startup and oil starved components. Oil will spin out fairly quickly and if oil from the pump has not reached the bearing material it will heat up and spin or score the babbitt material...
