Piston Question for D16Y8
I was planning on increasing the compression ratio for my civic.
someone suggested to put in some pistons from past D-series engines but i forget which one.
can someone help me out?

Re: Piston Question for D16Y8 (civboy115)
ok the motor you have it is a d16y8 right?? if you install the d16a6 pistons (piston code is pm6) it wiil raise compression to about 10.1 from 9.6. NOTE: not sure if they will clear valves and will most likely have to have block worked on to romove the ring groove created to prevent ring breakage and other fun stuff.

Re: Piston Question for D16Y8 (97vtecex)
A6 pistons put you at 10:1 as stated above
You can use PG6B pistons (OEM pistons from the 86-87 integra) for a safe all motor compression ratio of 11.3:1

The other moderator B18C5-EH2 runs P29 pistons (with bigger domes than the PG6B's) in a D16A6 without problem.
