Default performance upgrades

Hi guys I'm new here and to the whole car scene but I'm getting a 2000 Honda civic EX manual next year and I was wondering what upgrades I should get first in terms of performance or handling once I have stteld with the car. I was thinking of fuel injectors but still not 100% sure. Anyone have suggestions?
Cheers

lol what good are upgraded injectors going to do on a sub 200whp car and no EMS to adjust trim/fuel maps. Just get some 16x9 +20 XXR 531's and stretch 175/40's on...swap it or turbo it are your only cost effective options.

Hmm I see thanks! What car do you have? Would turbocharging a car with 95k mmiles be safe?

DC2 Integra set up for Time attack. So long as it's in good shape I see no real reason other then budget not to.

Nice! Would a new exhaust system be a good idea or no point as well?

Okay, but what about handling wise? The civic will be my first car so it suited my budget and it has good fuel economy and I just heard its good with aftermarket parts support. But if you guys have suggestions or recommendations for another car that can be upgraded for performance and also fuel friendly then I'll be happy to hear them!
And by performance upgrades I don't mean anything like 400hp and up I just want a nice ride on the streets since I won't be taking a first car to The tracks yet

Handling mods in a nutshell, and on a budget....

Koni/Ground Control coilovers w/ drop hats
Energy, Prothane, or Hardrace master bushing set
22mm Rear sway bar
Oversized 15" summer tires (Dunlop Z2, Hankook R-S3, Bridgestone Rival, etc.)

You can also get Poly motor and trans mount inserts for like $25 if you dont mind the NVH.

Do not buy and strut bars, subframe bars, or chassis bracing of any kind as it will not make a measurable or detectable increase in performance.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/click-here-all-you-curious-about-suspension-setups-their-costs-reliability-2967499/ this thread should be a good read suspension wise, it gives you THE best options for what your budget might be. I currently have Koni Yellows w/Ground Control coil sleeves and extended front top hats on my '98 EX that is my DD and is occasionally AutoX'd as well. $800 might not be your budget range but anyone on here who has them or has had them can vouch that they are hands down THE best bang for buck setup out there, what you choose for suspension will determine what you want out of your car, do you want function>form or form>function? Again i would suggest reading the FAQ's and grumblemarc's "Want a faster civic?" thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/guide-answer-common-question-just-bought-civic-how-do-i-make-faster-2915974/) in the end you will learn plenty and not get bashed for making a thread without skimming through the FAQ's first
