Passenger window rolls down but not up
Hi All and happy new to everyone. I'm new to the forum and bought a project civic but have a small problem that I can't figure out. I hope someone here can help, it's a 96 coupe ex vtec with 144k on the clock. My problem is the passenger window does not go up I replace the motor and the window regulator and even bought a new switch thinking that was the problem and now i'm all out of idea as to where to look. If i do it direct everything works but it will not go up from the switch from either door. I can roll it down no problem but will not go back up. Any help would be appreciated thank you in advance.

Check the wires where they connect to the door it's common for them to brake there. A test light is also handy for Testing for power and ground

re: Passenger window rolls down but not up
I have tested the driver switch and even put a new one I believe after you guys mentioned it the problem could be the door harness I will inspect it and report back just in case some else has the same problem. There is power to the switch but I think Is missing the ground that makes it go up I think.

i would post helpful wiring diagrams like ron but I'm to lazy to turn on my computer.
Basically you need to find the circuits for the windows and a multimeter and do continuity checks to find the culprit. And refer to the picture posted above and perform tests

Re: New to the forum with a project car but a window problem
I think slomo is right. The driver door master switch is bad.
Which switch did you replace - driver or passenger door?
Can you roll the passenger window down using either the driver or passenger door switch?
it will not go up from the switch from either door. I can roll it down no problem but will not go back up.

Re: Passenger window rolls down but not up
I can put the window down with either one driver or passenger but it will not go up from either one. To put it back up I have direct wire from the power source on the plug and ground to the door to put the window back up directly using just the wires on the motor. It has been raining and snowing all day and I have not been able to take a look at the harness to look for cut wires.

Re: Passenger window rolls down but not up
Do the 3 UP continuity tests for the passenger switch component of the driver's master switch:
Do you get continuity for all three tests?
Do you get continuity for all three tests?

Re: Passenger window rolls down but not up (SOLVED)
For my issue: 2000 CR-V , the rear driver side window would go down but not go back up. You did not even hear it trying to go back up. This was with both driver's master switch and the back seat switch. I took the motor regulator out and hooked it up to the other side of the car and it worked fine going up and down. So the motor is good then there must be a switch problem or broken wires somewhere. I borrowed a switch from autozone and now it goes both up and down. The part was $170 after tax. Ebay you can find it for $60ish.
