pass air bag block off

pass air bag block off
am i able to dis assemble the air bag and just use the top peice to cover the hole? is it safe to take the air bagt apart as long as its not plugged in?

my car is a 93 and im changing the int. to black and my buddy had a totaled 95 that i got the dash for free. therefore my car doesnt have a passenger airbag.i dont want to spend 95 bucks for a blockoff plate either.

As long as the airbag is unplugged you can leave it in there or do whatever you want with it. But the whole point of disabling an airbag is to get rid of it so that it makes your car "lighter" which I kinda think is ridiculous in my opinion.

what i want to know tho is can i take the airbag apart? so i can just use the top peice to cover the hole in the dash and get rid of the big metal peice of the airbag?
