Parts Cleaning "bareblock, head including valvetrain, and pistons" what to use?
Just wondering fellas... What do you guys us to clean your dismantled engine parts (Head, pistons, bare block, IM, etc)? Dont wanna spend money to get it hot tanked. Gunk, Engine degreaser, Brake cleaner, simple green? lemme know what you guys have used in the past or what you guys prefer using. I dont wanna use a product and have it harm the parts, not knowing that it was bad to use. Enlighten me

I have heard a lot of good comments about simple green. Both mechanics I go to recommend using it.

nothing I tried except hard scouring pads removed the aluminum's oxidation.
simple green removed the oil stains but my block and head were still nasty crusty old gray txtured aluminum until I busted out with the heavy duty industrial scouring pads thanks to my work
