Default Re: Identifying the hoses

The barb is broken off of your heater control valve box... and likely why you have the heater core bypassed. The only proper way to test the heater core for leaks is to connect it to the engine and fill the cooling system and warm up the engine to create the proper amount of pressure. If it leaks, you have to pull the dash. If not... you have heat. Find another heater control valve and reconnect.

The hose in your last pic is to the PCV valve which is installed into the oil separator box.

Yes but now changed last month. And it was not changed as car runs very less and most of the time parked but still there was no oil loss and safely it has done less than 10k kms in 2 years

Thanks for your help. Is there any problem if running the car without heater?

No problem unless you live in a cold area or an area that receives cold weather. It would be better for you to get some block off caps or a hose that properly fits the fittings on the engine without kinking.

You need to repair the vacuum line from your valve cover to the intake arm. You need to clean up the oil residue to investigate if there is a leak.

Youre missing the fender liner splash guard. I do not see anything out of the ordinary other than that

The silver tube is the air conditioning drier. Its used to remove humidity and make sure freon inside the ac system remains pure

Please familiarize yourself with the engine bay and you will find many of the answers you seek by just reading through the service manual

https://www.clubcivic.com/forum/thre...anyone.176563/

You can clean the transmission and block by spraying engine degreaser like purple power or simple green onto the dirty surfaces and useing a brush to agitate the surface and then spray clean with a water hose. Rinse and repeat process until clean. Do not soak electrical connectors with water or cleaner, a little water and cleaner will not hurt them at all. Just keep the alternator dry

Thanks very much Chrysler
I have downloaded the manual and I am getting fimilarize with my engine bay. But here in Pakistan, mechanics really don't care about doing the job properly and neatly.
Can you tell me if transmission cover is not there can this damage anything?
Secondly the gear oil may be overfilled because it was filled from the top by removing a sensor and now it has leaked. The mechanic said that it is easy to fill from top. Does it has any bad effect on transmission?

Yes fill from the top is easiest, however there is a full hole on the side of the trans behind the axle that will leak out excess oil when the transmission is full. If you remove the full plug any extra fluid that is not needed will come out. I believe this is a 21mm bolt behind the axle on the passengers side

The cover is a good idea to use as it will keep debris such as gravel out of the transmission.

The 2 lines are to heat the throttle body with coolant to create even temperature being let into the motor. The coolant lines go into the throttle body then out to the idle air control valve according to the diagram. Techbically it is not vital the throttle body is connected to coolant unless you live in a cold climate area

I think the resonator box is also broken.
And one more thing it can now suck water from here if I take into a deep puddle?
