Re: paint???
You could do all the preparation work yourself and have a local Maaco spray it. Ask around at shops, see if they have pictures of work they've done.

have to do anything to it or just push it in and spray? What factory
paint color was it?
I had a winter car that I was thinking about having them
spray a while back..but screw that. I'll just shoot it myself. I was
only going to have them do it if it was extremely cheap.
$900 is a chunk of change. I would have been livid had my paint
started deteriorating so soon..

Re: paint???
That's why you ask locals about where they got their cars repainted. If you happen to find a lot of cars in your area that have been repainted by Maaco and the job worked out well... why not?

Re: paint???
Maaco is a franchise. The business owner pays to use the name,
signs, tools and whatever else. By pays, I mean that he / she pays
Maaco a percentage of the profits. In turn, the owner is getting
national advertisement for his shop and other advertisement in
different media. So yeah, one guy who got into the franchise in
a certain city could be a great painter, does great work, and hires
only pros...compared to another guy in the next city who doesn't
care about anything but money, skimps on quality and hires hacks.
In good shops, you'll usually see the owner quite a bit. In the latter
description of what a shop could be like, you'll never see the owner.
he's always out on his boat or golfing. If you hear the words "boat"
or "golfing" while looking for a paint job, run. Run as fast as you
can.

Re: paint???
Is it possible that your prep work was the reason for it cracking? Improper sanding or bad primer can cause issues. You honestly can not blame maaco unless they did the prep work. but since you did.....your equally responsible.
