Default p61 ecu?

Does the p61 ecu have a knock sensor, unlike a p28 that dooesnt have one. How does this ecu compare to a p28 or p72 that everyone uses aftermarket chips.

I hooked it up to my brother's b-18c powered 92 SI with a chipped p28 ecu. He took it for a little drive and came back with a cel 23, knock sensor. His isnt hooked up to the car's wire harness. Thanks.
