sorry if this is a newbie question..but kinda confused, Did some search on HT, and online..here's my problem:

bought a b16 hatch JDM...trying to get it reff/bar'd asap..

the owner i bought it from said that the ECU (big one) was JDM

i recently bought a "USDM" ecu from some1 and it came in the SMALL CASE? 94del sol SI DOHC b16 USDM...from what he said and the shop state too

I looked online, it's stating that JDM has the smaller casing..
Does the USDM ones come in the small casing or the bigger ones

ANY CLARIFICATION would be appreciated:

i feel like i HAD A "USDM" one to begin wtih and i just bought myself a "JDM" one..

Actually, the first one is a European P30 (big) and the second is a Japanese P30 (small).

Is that where G01 comes from? I was going to say the big one is USDM and the small one is JDM until i saw that.

hmmmmm...

does the EURO look just like the USDM?

just wondering how strict the ref is in my area, maybe hell just look at the size of the ECU..

im just using it for BAR
probably run JDM after i get the sticker..

any advice on what i should do? or maybe get by with the EURO? at the ref? or do they actually want a verifaction of the ecu...

You might be able to pass with the European ECU because they had the same engines as us, but you might not since they don't regulate emissions like they do in the US.

true true...

i live in cencal where there isn't too many modded civics and i heard the Ref at the college is coo...only a few bar'd civics are around here if that...

then plan B, rent that p30...from a fellow HT member..

im just glad i got the REAL JDM ONE...might make the car run better after the sticker...cus i ran into some richness problems..but slowly filtering out the CRAPPY JOB by the previous owner..didnt realize he didnt know what the F#$* he was doing....a good friend of mine too and even went to a UTI...carelessness i think
now it makes me wonder about the wiring and all the harness stuff as well for hte swap...

all good, got the car for a steal.

i just wanna make a LEGIT cali ride, doing daily low 13s for autoxing, or roadcourse
