p0700, wont pass emissions, but what if??
So my 98' EK is throwing a Cel for ECM module blah blah blah...i've done the research and i can try replacing the linear solenoid but its a slim chance it'll fix it, most recommend replacing the trans (not doing that, did that once when i got the car and i wanna sell it soon). ive flushed the fluid and it came out clean and fine, car shifts fine too.
My issue is that, it keeps failing inspection because of the cel light. Im not sure how emissions tests work, but i was curious if i pull the bulb for the Cel, can they run the emissions test. or does the ecu need to be cleared off all codes prior to testing? I just need to get the damn stickers haha
thanks.

not sure about the inspections in PA. but in NY if you have no CEL light when they turn the car on they'll tell you to fix it before they continue. ECU does need to be clear but the readiness monitors need to be set already. you can have up to 2 monitors not ready since your car is a 98.

So when they see the exsisting errors, and no cel light they would more than likely automatically tell me to fix the CEL?
