over heating problem in a stock car
i have a stock d16 never did anything to the motor and it is over heating... i changed the oil and the water... anyone know whats up? 
it only happins when i stop for over one min.. but when i drive away it cools down!

changed the thermostat
i dont have a radiator fan... it never had one!
and its a after market radiator

Yeah... your fan isn't kicking on because it doesn't exist... that's probably your problem. My car's stock engine begins to overheat if I sit still for more than 5 or so minutes, and my fan doesn't kick on. Get a fan.

Before I read the 'I don't have a fan' part I was going to say that one cause is if you get an airbubble in your system. But it can also have the opposite effect of turning the fan on all the time when you're parked, running your battery to zero.
Buddy of mine had a bubble right @ the coolant temp sensor. Sometimes it'd read false-cold and the fan wouldn't come on when it should. But when parked, it caused false-hot and the fan ran until the battery didn't.
He insisted on having it towed to a shop, despite many of us telling him that was probably the problem. After a $50 tow he discovered that just having the car hooked to the towtruck and lifted at an angle 'burped' the system and got rid of the bubble. He could have done the same thing by driving up a hill and saved $50!
