OT: music affects the way we drive.
Sorry for the OT, but I'm convinced. Music affects the way I drive at least. I will pump up the trance energy 2002 v.2 or some hip-hop with a tight beet and I will get a huge urge to gun it and just DRIVE. Speed is like a drug to me. What do you all think? Does music affect your driving?

Yes, it does. It gets me in the mood when I go to the track...I try to control myself on the streets though.
I don't know how technical this is, so it might get locked...

there is an idea that says dissonance is the root of all disease and that specific frequencies can correct this using feedback mechanisms.
"A feedback mechanism is a way of receiving information about a person directly from the body, which circumvents miscommunication, lack of awareness about the body, and the difficulty of describing an imbalance within the constructs of verbal language. A feedback mechanism bypasses consciousness and gives unadulterated, direct information."
it all comes down honest, true living. we are in synch with the universe and when we find ourselves lost or ill somehow, we can correct this by seeking and establishing an honest connection with the universe. but we must help ourselves before looking to otherworldly presences for help, ie living "honestly." this is interesting, if not at least entertaining reading. I suggest those interested read this essay:

do not discount the healing power of music!

Hell yes music affects the way you drive. When I am driving and here AC/DC come on it just has that bad *** beat too it and it is all over. Damn Drop a couple of gears and rip through the streets. Never getting above the speed limit of course.

a good CD will provide loads of adrenaline going
and yes it does effect my driving.

Hell yeah it does.
When I'm going down some twisty backroads at an unlawful rate of speed ( I live in the middle of cows and cornfields ) I like to put in a CD I burned with the music from Initial D. It's Europop and some dance/electronica and it makes me just drive. That and I picture Shoji Shingo in his red EG6.
Long trips, it's Garth Brooks. Relaxing, and tells a story to keep you thinking.
Daily driving, something hard like Metallica or some hard rock.
Rap is for shows.
But, none beat the sounds of the DOHC VTEC at 7000rpm.

i agree 100% that music affects the way u drive. i would drive a whole lot crazier if i was listening to like godsmack or anything hard like that than i was if i were to listen to country music or something

I don't think there is anyone that is going to disagree with you that music effects our driving....
The music i choose to listen to while driving has a lot to do with the time of day and what kind of mood i am in.
If i am in the mood to drive fast i usually put on some trance of some sort. Most of my driving occurs with some good hip hop playing tho.
by the way i my sohc vtec at 7k.....hahahaha...my motor sux...

When all you hear is a rattling exhaust that gives you a headache, it doesnt make you drive different at all. My stock cd player broke a while back and I dont have the money for a new one yet, maybe Christmas.
So you guys are lucky that you have one.
