Default OT: Maxlife oil in a v6 ?

Hey guys I did it I bought a new car (new to me any way) I got a 00 blazer with 79000 miles on it, Its running true oil (not synthetic) is there anything to be gained by using "max life" oil the stuff for cars over 75000 miles or is it just extra money ?

for those who know me my HB is still around just sitting in the garage waiting for a paint job

if it runs fine right now, leave it be. i think the max life oils you're talking about, are just thicker oils with additives to quiet down valvetrain, condition seals.
