?? the crossmember is on top of the header so removing it will not be nessesary. the one piece is cleaner looking and its not hard at all to install. you just need a jack, 12mm tools and maybe a pair of locking pliers to hold one end of the spring loaded exhaust bolts. the one piece or 4-1 would give it more hp/tq gains (i believe). i personally ran a 4-2-1 on my old d16z6 and a 4-1 and i liked the 4-1 way better (i definately felt a little more power over the 4-2-1). i have a 4-1 for my b16 but i havent installed it yet, all the headers i have bought were all dc's but ive always wanted the tri y hytech ones. also if your car is extremely low then i would just settle with the 4-2-1 because it offers more clearance. good luck.

4-1 gives you much more pressure also, which is good for compression if you have enough air coming into the engine. Al la, re done intake or boost.
