Ok single cam in limp mode... i Searched....
Ok so my car started running in limp mode.. reving out at 3000 / 3200 rpm. but i could go as fast as i needed too, now here is the thing i do have a cel, its throwing a code but i cant tell what code it is i recorded it and everything and cant tell...
and my clutch is almost gone.. whould that cause it to go into limp mode? and last night i was driving home it started sounding like a supra or evo, or even a boosted civic which its not all i have is cold air, tb spacer, header, exhaust. and then i ran thru some water and the boosted sound went away but still in limp mode. i also have had the jumping idle problem and i recently replaced my IACV and thats all and it still dose the jumping idle.
so my question is, what all causes the ecu to run in "limp" mode, would my clutch going out have anything to do with it.
and yes ill try and get the vid of the CEL blinking up.
and while searching i found this.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Thateguhate »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">oh ok hahahaha.. you should be good. Have you tryed taking it to your tuner, or any tuner for that matter??
I dont know what else might be the cause of it though.. limp mode is usually a 20mph top speed on ECU's. Not a rev limit. So my guess is your ecu is fine but its the program playing tricks on you.</TD></TR></TABLE>
my ecu has no chip its a stock P28.
symptoms.
Car runs in limp mode
while in limp mode its sounds like a supra or evo even a turbo civic.
clutch going out.
throwing a code, but cant read it.
when the car runs normal it revs out at 6 grand.
Any help H-T? please i need this to get to and from school lol!!

first, your clutch has nothing to do with your CEL
second, to read the blinks is simple. if it's a long blink then it's 10s. short/fast blinks would be single digits.
if you still cant read it then post vid.

10 and 41, try to change your oxygen sensor with another good one, and mess with some of the plugs on the intake manifold, jiggle everything and make sure its all in tight. And is there any bypasses to your coolant lines to your intake?

there is a massive array of single "cams", What car is it? is assume an EJ1 with a Z6? The cel seems like a missfire via code14, IACV or vac leak. The turbo sound is either
A; an exhaust leak where the manifold meets the head or
B; The manifold pushing itself away from the catalytic converter at higher rpms.
or
C; clogged PCV valve so pressure is excaping from the valve cover gasket.
Your problem is the TB spacer, get rid of it ASAP.
