Default CEL #14 help!!

Got the light when I was drivin back from my aunts house. I jumped the code and got #14.

CEL 14 - IAC Valve (Idle Air Control) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor.

Now what the hell does that mean?

I was at the stoplight, waiting for the green light... then all of a sudden, the CEL popped up and my idle went up to 1500rpm and wouldn't come down. The car would try to come back down, but it wouldn't. It bobbed up and down near 1500rpm making weird noises.

This happened to me once, a couple weeks ago. Same code... but all I did was turn the car off, then back on, and it was fine. I reset the ECU and it runs perfectly fine. No problems at all.

Its just annoying as hell. I hate when CEL's pop up. It pops up every now and then.

So anyone know what the problem could be? And how to fix it?

U have a bad IACV, get another one.
Or before anything, make sure u have enough coolant, if it needed coolant, bleed it so eliminates any air bubbles in the system.
But, u are throwing that code, so, mostlikely its bad IACV.

The IACV does nothing with coolant other than use it to heat itself during winter.

Check for bad connections, otherwise you are probably gonna have to replace it.

My comment was based on his funny idleing, mine did that when it had air bubbles.
Like I said, if he is throwing a code, mostilikely the IACV is bad.

Air bubbles in the coolant mess with the ECT sensor, causing idle problems....it had nothing to do with the coolant running through the IACV.

Where do I go to check the IACV?

Goto the dealer and ask them to replace it?

something you may want to try is take off the IACV and clean it with Brake cleaner then put it back on and reset your ECU, if that doesn't work replace the sensor

Maybe one of your connections went bad when you lengthened your sensors to install the manifold?

It is located on the back on the Intake Manifold, has one clip going to it, and two small coolant hoses. I believe for my B16 when I had the code, I got lucky and it was just some wiring issues, cost something like $150 to replace. Not super cheap, but it always could be worse.
