Re: ok i need help identifyin this engine!!
I have a question myself about the 95 civic d16z6. I have a vtec noid and p28 ecu. Does that make it a vtec or an ex? I'm new to hondas so I know very little about them. Can someone tell me if they are vtec or non vtec or is it just an ex? And if it is any of the above whta will be the next improvement to theengine besides already having air intake, exhust and headers? Any good info would be greatly appreciated.

dude you honestly quoted yourself 20 minutes after not getting an answer? you clearly did not read any of the new forum member read here sticky...
and to answer your question the d16z6 came in 92-95 civic Ex's AND Si's yes you do need an ecu that will allow VTEC to engage and it has to be wired in if its not in a 1992 civic chassis, and improving the engine from what you have now would have to be turbo... since anything else you would to go internally into the motor, since your motor is completely stock
