Default oil pressure sending unit and oil pan qestions??

i have a few qestions so here they are.
1.is it necessary to put rtv on the oil pan gasket or can i just use the silicone gasket by itself.

2.im having trouble with my oil. i installed an oil pressure gauge and i used what they call a "sandwich" plate adapter however it leaks oil from that plate where it makes contact with the block. so if i remove the sending unit for the idiot light will it mess with the ecu at all and/ or effect how the car runs?? because i think im gonna ditch the plate and put my sending unit there.

3. also does anyone have another recomendation on where to place the sending unit??

thanks,
john

It isn't recommended you use any RTV on an oil pan gasket. The gasket itself will do.

As for you oil gauge, have no suggestions as I don't know what exactly it going on.

Where on the block is the sending unit mounted or sandwiched? At the oil filter? At a sensor?

1. no rtv
2. oil sending unit is just for the light on the gauge. no effect to ecu.
3. either get a good quality sandwich plate or use the stock location or reinstall the one you have, the o-ring may have gotten pinched or overtightened.

The oil pan requires both the gasket and some RTV or HondaBond placed at the curved areas of the oil pan.
