It is crazy how many different oppinions there are on this. To really handle business, put in 3.5, or 3 if you want. Put the cap on, start the car, idle it for a bit, shut er down and check the dip stick and add more if you need it (probably will since it takes 3.9)

My motor loves to burn motor (more so because the fact that I drive my car like I stole it) so I always put in around 4. Or just put in enough so the oil reads a few mm under the top hole on the dipstick.

service manual says 4.2 with filter for a b16a2. i have an em1, a service manual, and honda is my employer...

buy a 4quaters and that will be enough...i allways but 4+1, so that i have for later...
and about how much oil gets in tha car, that is tough question...you have different oil filters with different capacities...
also about 0.5quater gets left in the engine (on the walls of the engine and all the surfaces), even when you drain the oil...
