I have always heard if you use synthetic, it is not good to go back after a while.

But I do not know if this is just an old wives tale or not, but it's something to think about. I have always used synthetic oil in my car. It just runs better with them over conventional motor and trans oils.

I'm not a scientist, and I can't really tell you the differences in the composition of chemical breakdown of synthetics over conventional. But there is a reason most high performance cars come from the factory with it.

but just to be on the safe side, if youve been using synthetic, in your motor or tranny, stay with synthetic

I bought a 97 coupe which had almost 130k on it with mobil-1. I switched back to conventional oil and am now at 165k with no leaks. I do know that if u used conventional oil for a long time and switch after car has 100k on it it can be prone to leaks switching to synthetic oil.
For the record, everyone suggests to using Honda MTF.

i don't know I've recently just started using synthetic oil and it works it's magic. So I think i'm going to stick with synthetic even when i'm broke I guess Reason why is before on regular oil my engine temp seems to be high/hotter than normal to me people said it's normal for engine to run hot. That I know but when it's hot to the point where you touch it and get a freaken hot *** burn where you still feel it minutes later that's freaken hot. So after I changed to synthetic runs great, engine temp is normal hot and don't use much coolant as it use to with regular oil. But that is just what happen for me. Yeah I could've changed my radiator I supose, or look else where in engine or whatver. But radiator was still in okay shape( a re-build) but all the sudden I wanted to give synthetic to the car now and no problems since. beats me I'm good now.

Hotter than normal?
Where does you r temp guage sit when your driving or idling? My car sits steady just below the half way point on guage and stays there regardless of outside temp, a/c, idling. My car is stock Y7.

I should've said..well it's hotter than normal in my engine bay/the engine. But for my guage temp it sits below half way I believe idle or not can't remeber now but it sits normal. Not that it's broken or anything because it works, slowly goes up as car warms. But engine bay is just like 98+ degrees no matter what even if it's cold outside etc. But engine's hot enough to burn you for some minutes when running regular oil. But yeah it's weird how I changed to the synthetic and thing runs normal. But either way on the radiator for me I'm looking to replace it some time next year only because it's a re-build but for now it's still okay. This is for a 95 coupe (ex)
