Default Odd gauge cluster problem....

Hey all, got a little bit of a problem im hoping someone can help me with....

Bought a 93 dx hatch last year, changed the stock cluster to an ex one with a tach...with the d15b7, I would occasionaly get speedo loss, whereas I did not with my original tach...now that my car has a b16a in it, I think the problems with the cluster are more pronounced, the speedo works 50% of the time, and the tach seems to be off, it is showing vtec as kicking in as 5400ish, instead of 5800...and it is cutting me off at a shown 73-7500ish, and it should be at 8200 where I should hit the rev limiter....

Is it possible to have the tachometer be off? I mean, it is just pulses being sent but it also looks like the person before me screwed with the cluster because it shows up as having like 2000 miles on it, and it is a 13 year old cluster. Any ideas? Could it just be the speedo? Oh yea, I am getting no check engine lights, and this happens with my p28, and my p30. Thanks!
